FAQ's
Q. Do I need a formal diagnosis to have Neurodivergent coaching?

A. Absolutley not! You can be self-discovered / simple curious / you want to learn more about Neurodivergent brains / you suspect you may be Neurodivergent but are right at the start of your journey. This is an inclusive space and everyone is welcome.

Q. What is Neurodivergent Coaching?

A. Although Neurodivergent Coaching isn't therapy, it is a space to process Neurodivergent experiences through a Neurodivergent lens and through some psycho-education. We sometimes have to understand the root cause in order to move forward. Having said that, we will be primarily processing the present and working towards something you are aiming for, whether it is simply to understand your brain better, achieve better work-life balance, work through emotional regulation, work towards career or personal goals. It covers a large scope and is absolutely centred around your wants, needs and where you are up to in your journey.

Q. What happens in the 15 minute into call?

A. The usual format is that you tell me about what you would hope to get from having Neurodivergent coaching sessions plus a little context about your current situation. I then talk a little bit about myself and my coaching style. You will then have the opportunity to ask me any questions you may have and then we decide whether or not it might be worth having an initial (free) coaching session so that you can properly test out my coaching without committing financially.

Q. Does Neurodivergent Coaching help with burnout, overwhelm and self-acceptance?

A. Absolutely. Burnout is a very common Neurodivergent experience and the way that we experience burnout is very nuanced to how our brains are wired. Neurodivergent coaching can be an incredibly useful tool in overcoming burnout and/or with preventing it. Similarly, overwhelm is a very common Neurodivergent experience so through coaching we can discuss how to prevent it and how to work through it by looking at nervous system regulation, what helps you re-energise and what may be the root cause. Self-acceptance is a major part of all of the coaching process as coaching doesn't promote "fixing" Neurodivergent brains, it promotes accepting them and more importantly, celebrating them.
Q. Where is your coaching available?
A. I mainly work online, so in essence, my coaching is available globally. I generally work in UK & EU timezones but I generally am I able to offer flexible times on request.

Q. What tools and approaches do you use?

A. I am a person-centred coach, so my approach is totally client led as I believe everyone is on a totally unique journey which should be honoured. My main approach is to create safety and trust so that my clients can explore and process their experiences in a space where they feel truly heard and understood. I do occasionally thread in psycho-education, coaching models and assessments but these aren't foundational to how I work. I typically work with clients for months as opposed to weeks but taking the time helps to generate long lasting results which I believe is better than quick fixes which don't last because they aren't fully tailored. It is worth noting that I don't stipulate a minimum or maximum number of sessions as each client has totally unique needs.
